Billy Slater Shield 2018

On Friday November 9th, forty-three Greenvale Primary School students attended the Billy Slater Shield which was held at Lakeside Reserve in Roxburgh Park.

Greenvale Primary School entered four teams in the competition consisting of a Year 6 Boys Tackle, Year 5 Boys Tackle, Year 5/6 Girls Tackle and a Year 5/6 Girls Tag.
All teams experienced a range of results throughout the day and played each match with great spirit and sportsmanship, displaying our school values.
The Year 5 Boys went through the day undefeated, the Year 6 Boys won their first match and lost the next two, the Girls Tackle had a win, loss and draw and finally the Girls Tag had three defeats.

Thank you to Mr Rovetto and Mrs La Motta who assisted on the day.

Well done to all students involved, I hope this experience inspires more rugby in the future.

Footy Colours Day 2018

On Friday September 21st, Greenvale Primary School celebrated its annual Footy Colours Day.
Students were able to wear their footy colours to school on this day, displaying many teams from the AFL, NRL and A-League, as well as national and international soccer and rugby, in addition to some local sporting clubs too.

Students were asked to contribute a gold coin donation to this fantastic day and we raised $822.85 for the charity ‘Fight Cancer Foundation.’
The House Captains ran footy related activities at recess for students in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 and we celebrated the end of term with a footy parade in the final hour which included heaps of prizes and giveaways.

Thank you all for proudly displaying your colours, I can’t wait to do it again next year.
