It has been another busy term in the Visual Arts room!
The F-2 students explored two main units of work: Printmaking and Collage.
The Foundation students learnt about the Australian author and illustrator Sean Avery who uses printmaking and collage to create his artworks. They created a penguin inspired by his story ‘Frank’s Red Hat’.
The Year 1 & 2 students learnt about the artist Henry Matisse and studied the creative processes of the author and illustrator Eric Carle. They created collages inspired by these artists.
The Year 3 & 4 students finished their textiles and mask making projects. Don’t they look amazing!
The Year 5 students studied the genre of Street Art. They painted a graffiti style name on a fence constructed from foam and pop sticks. They learnt about the Pop Art movement and created a comic style collage inspired by the artist Roy Lichtenstein.
The Year 6 students began designing and painting their skateboards. They are still a work in progress however we are very excited to see the finished product! Here’s a sneak peek!
