Between Friday November 23rd and Tuesday November 27th, Mischa, Kean and Max from Greenvale PS competed in the School Sport Australia Track and Field Championships, held at Lakeside Stadium.
Mischa competed in discus with great effort, skill and endeavour. Despite not getting the results she was after the achievement of competing at her first national competition against the best in Australia is a huge win.
Max and Kean both qualified for the 100m and 200m finals and competed in 4x100m relay teams.
Kean placed 8th in his 100m final and 10th in his 200m final making him the 8th fastest 11 Year Old boy in Australia.
Kean’s relay team then placed 3rd, so he was able to take home a medal.
Max placed 3rd in his 100m final and 1st in the 200m final taking out his first National Championship.
This places Max as the fastest 12 Year Old Boy across 200m in Australia.
In his relay, Max’s team placed 2nd, just getting run down by QLD in the final few meters.
Max has been able to take home a gold, silver and bronze across the championships.
Well done to all three students. Competing at a National Championship is an elite level of competition and I am sure this experience will bring great development and opportunity into the future.
I hope to see you back again next year.
