During Term 2, Greenvale Primary School students competed at District, Division and Region level for Cross Country. Students compete in either a 2km or 3km race against other schools. Finishing in top 12 of these races qualfies them for the next stage. See below how our students went!
District Cross Country
On Friday May 16th, Greenvale Primary School competed in the Greenvale District Cross Country Carnival. The school competed against 9 other schools to not only be the Greenvale District Cross Country champions, but also have students qualify for the Woodlands Division Cross Country Carnival.
Students competed in the Boys and Girls races in the 10-yr old, 11 yr old and 12/13 yr old age groups. 10-year-old students ran a 2km course while 11/12/13 year old students ran a 3km course. Greenvale Primary School sent 60 students to compete, from that, 23 students have qualified for the Division Cross Country. An amazing achievement and one that the whole school is immensely proud of!
The students had a fantastic time at District Cross Country and upheld all the school values during the day. Unfortunately, we didn’t win the Greenvale District Cross Country Championships, finishing 2nd on the day.

Division Cross Country
On Wednesday June 6th Greenvale Primary School had 20 students involved with the Woodlands Division Cross Country Carnival. Students competed in either a 2km (10 year old) or 3km (11/12 year old) race. Competing against over 50 schools present at the event. This was held at Kilmore Racing Track, it was a cold and windy day but it didn’t hurt our students spirits!
Greenvale has had 4 students qualified for the North Metro Region Cross Country event. Sinem (5ND), Madina (56W), Sofia (5ND) and Archie (6DW) have all qualified for the next stage. What a fantastic achievement by all students who competed at Division level!

Region Cross Country
On Wednesday June 18th, Greenvale Primary School had 4 students competing in the North Metro Region Cross Country Day. This was held at Kilmore Racing Club. Students who have made it this far were competing against over 250 different schools in the North Metro Region. Archie who competed in the 12/13 year old boys race finished 54th and in the 11 year old girls race, we had Madina (17th), Sophia (56th) and Sinem (60th) overall for the day.
This is an enourmous achievement to make in any sporting event. The school is immensely proud of what these students have achieved this term and can’t wait to see how they go next year!
