Dear parents and carers,

As you are aware, the situation regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve.

The Victorian Government has confirmed that all schools will move to remote and flexible learning when Term 2 starts on Wednesday 15 April.

This means that all students who can learn at home must learn from home. Your child will not come to school next week. This is a very clear directive by the Victorian Government based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer.

All students will be learning from home, except for children whose parents work in the essential services area and are not able to be supervised at home and no other arrangements can be made.

Should your children be among the small number of families we anticipate possibly needing to attend school during this time, I can assure you we will put all health precautions in place in an attempt to keep all safe and well.

If your child requires supervision at school, can you please complete the below form and email them back to me at outlining the requested details and why supervision is required.

Most of our teachers will also be working from home. All of them have been working hard to put learning plans online on SeeSaw to ensure continuity of learning and to support the wellbeing of all our students. You will have received a notice on Compass at the end of last term with details about connecting to SeeSaw. Please contact your child’s teacher by email or through Compass if you require assistance to do this.

Work is also underway to identify students who do not have access to digital technologies at home.

All families will receive a phone call from their eldest child’s teacher next Tuesday 14 April

This is clearly going to be a challenging time for all of us. It’s going to be critically important that we work very closely together to ensure that we provide the very best possible support for the ongoing wellbeing and learning of our students and your children.

Further information regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) and schools can be found on the Department’s website, which will continue to be updated as the situation evolves:

Thank you for your support during this time. Stay safe!

Yours sincerely,
