SSV State Cross Country Championships

On Thursday July 18th, Greenvale Primary School Year 6 student Matthew, attended the ‘School Sport Victoria, State Cross Country Championships’ at Bundoora Park to compete in the 12 Year Old Boys, 3000m race.

Matthew has run through an outstanding Cross Country season, placing first at School, District and Division Cross Country events, smashing his personal best placing at the Regional Cross Country and proving to be a more than capable performer at the State Cross Country event.

In a race of approximately one-hundred competitors, Matthew placed 44th, putting him in the top fifty long distance runners for his age in Victoria. Matthew is running at an elite level and continues to rapidly improve his performance.

Congratulations on your amazing achievement this year.

Regional Cross Country 2019

On Wednesday June 19th, thirteen Greenvale Primary School students attended Bundoora Park to compete in the Regional Cross Country.

The Regional level of competition is one step below State representation, so the competition was of a very high standard.

The Greenvale Primary School students competed with great determination, resilience and spirit, experiencing a mix of results across 2000 and 3000m races.

Our highest achieving student, Matthew placed 9th in the 12 Year Boys event, earning a place in the State Championships in early Term 3.

All students should be extremely proud of their efforts, your willingness to work hard to improve your performance is a credit to yourself. Keep persevering in Cross Country next year and you will go a step closer to State representation.

We wish Mathew all the best at the State Championships next term.
