District Cross Country 2019

On Friday 3rd of May, fifty-six of Greenvale Primary Schools finest runners attended the District Cross Country at Brimbank Park.

In gorgeous, sunny conditions our team battled against other local schools across 2000 and 3000m events.

Top 30 place getters in each race won points for their school, top ten places getters in each race won a spot into the Divisional Cross Country later in the term and the top three place getters in each event were awarded a medal.

The team from Greenvale Primary School represented us with great sportsmanship, athleticism and endurance with many students advancing to the next level of Cross Country and many more winning points for our school.

Greenvale Athletics 2019 – results

On Tuesday April 2nd, all students in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 participated in the Greenvale Primary School Athletics Carnival.

In perfect conditions out on the Bradford Oval, students competed in a range of events including 100m sprint, 200m sprint, 800m run, 1500m run, shot put, discus, long jump and high jump, across four age groups including 9s, 10s, 11s and 12s.

At the conclusion of each event, ribbons were given for first four place getters and points allocated to each House.
There was a trophy awarded for the House with the most points as well as a trophy awarded to the House which had displayed the great school spirit across the Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals.

The individual results from this day will make an excellent starting point for selection into the Greenvale Athletics Team, which will go off to compete at the District Athletics on Friday August 16.

Greenvale Athletics Carnival 2019

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

On Tuesday 2nd April 2019 all Year 3-6 students will participate in the Greenvale Primary School Athletics Carnival. The event will be held on the Bradford Avenue council oval, weather permitting. Last year’s event was a huge success, so we hope this year can continue this great tradition at our school.

Students in the 8/9 and 10 year old age groups will compete between 9.30 and 12.15pm.
Students in the 11 and 12/13 year old age groups will compete between 12.30 and 3.15pm.
All age groups will have their presentation on the Assembly Area at 3.15pm.

Student age groups are based on ages as at the 31/12/2019. For example: all students born in 2011 or 2010 will be in the 8/9 year old age group, all students born in 2009 will be in the 10 year old age group, all students born in 2008 will be in the 11 year old age group and all students born in 2007 or 2006 will be in the 12/13 year old age group.

Students will be able to select up to 4 events; which include the following:

 Track 100m 200m 800m 1500m
Field Shot Put Discuss Long Jump
