On Wednesday 23rd April, Greenvale Primary School held our annual Athletics Carnival.
Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 students competed in a variety of different athletics events, representing their house colour with a chance to become the Greenvale Athletics Carnival Champions.
The running events that students competed in were 100m, 200m, 400m and 1500m. The field events were shot put, discus, long Jump and high Jump. The students were split into their age groups 9, 10, 11 and 12/13 yr olds. Finishing in the top 4 of their chosen events gave students points towards their house colour. Congratulations to Cumberland house who were crowned the Greenvale Athletics Carnival Champions and to Gellibrand house who won the Spirit Award which is the house that displayed great resillience and respect during competition.
Students who finished in the top 4 of their events also have the opportunity to be selected for the District Athletics held in Term 3.
