Foundation Excursion to the Royal Melbourne Zoo

Foundation’s Totally Wild Explorer’s Day Out!

On Wednesday the 31st of May our Foundation students went on their first excursion to the Royal Melbourne Zoo. As students and staff were dressed for the wintery weather (jackets, scarves, beanies and gloves) the Melbourne winter sun shone through making it a stunning sunny day for our ‘Wild Exploders’’ at the Zoo.

On arrival the students shared a mass ‘Storytime’ with Gabriella introducing them to the ‘Wild Explorer’s theme of the day. After morning snack and a quick stop to the toilets students explored the wild animals of the Zoo before attending their Zoo classroom experience where they were exposed to real life animals such as Puzzle the corn snake, Lucy the cockroach, tortoises, a wild explorer garden and much more.

A big thank you to all staff, parent volunteers and to the Wandong Bus lines for making the excursion a safe and enjoyable one.

We hope that you enjoy the ‘totally wild’ pictures below…
