F – 2 Tabloid Sports 2016

Last Friday Greenvale Primary School hosted its second Tabloid Sports for students in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2. It was a day full of fun, excitement and energy as we avoided all of the rain and even had some small patches of sunshine.

Well done to all of the students involved for having a blast throughout the day, thank you to the parents and staff who supported the day and made it run so smoothly, and congratulations to the Year 6 House Captains for displaying excellent leadership and running all activities throughout the day.

State Hooptime 2016

The All Star Boys team from Greenvale Primary School ventured to Dandenong Basketball Stadium today to compete in the state finals.

Over 550 All Star Boys teams had entered the Hooptime Competition and only the top 20 teams were playing at the state finals.

The Boys Competition was split over four pools. In Pool 1, Greenvale was up against Warranwood Primary School, St Finbars Primary School (Brighton East), Kew East Primary School and Maffra Primary School.

The first match was against St Finbars, which saw a strong performance from both sides. St Finbars skills were to smooth as they scored a couple of threes in the final minutes to win the game by five points (16-21).
The second match against Warranwood, was again a strong performance, but fast breaks and outside shooting cost the boys this game, losing by eight points (8-16).
In the third match against Maffra PS, the boys got their day back on track with a thrilling win in the last minute by two points (17-15).
The fourth game was disappointing against Kew East, with the team not producing their best performance and easily losing this (6-21).

Following the games in our pool, we placed fourth and

Regional Hooptime 2016

On Thursday November 3rd, the Greenvale Primary School Senior All Star Boys and Girls Hooptime teams travelled to the Mill Park Stadium to participate in the Regional Finals Competition.

The All Star Girls team fought hard and were very competitive in all of their games. Unfortunately the first three matches for the girls resulted in losses against Wallan PS (4 – 11), Eltham North PS (3 – 4) and Holy Trinity PS (4 – 9). However, the girls hard work and determination was rewarded in their fourth and final game as they won against Panton Hill PS (9 – 6).

The All Star Boys team were Wild Card entries into the Regional Competition following a tight and disappointing loss to Our Lady’s Craigieburn in our District Grand Final. This time around, the boys were determined to not make the same mistakes again.
This resulted in impressively strong wins against Mother Teresa PS (18 – 8), St Peters PS (31 – 0), St Francis of Assisi PS (13 – 4) and Doreen PS (13 – 9). Following these victories we came up against Sacred Heart PS Diamond Creek in the Grand Final.
The boys were nervous at the start of the
