After a delayed start for one of our busses we all arrived at Portsea camp in time for a delicious lunch of make your own cold meat and salad rolls. We then changed into our beach gear and hit the water, a light drizzle didn’t stop us from having a great time. As the clouds started to build we headed back to camp for afternoon tea, showers, a thunder storm and some indoor games. Dinner was fish and chips and your choice of the most delicious salads you could dream of, followed by ice cream cake for desert. Don’t forget to check in each night to find out what has been happening at camp

Thank you to Mr Rovetto and Mrs La Motta who assisted on the day.
Well done to all students involved, I hope this experience inspires more rugby in the future.
On Monday October 29th, three of Greenvale Primary Schools top performing athletes attended the School Sport Victoria, State Track and Field Championships. This was held in gorgeous conditions at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park.
Mischa, Kean and Max have been working hard all year, in and out of their Physical Education sessions with an aim of improving their physical performances.
Their athletics journeys have been varied, with some relatively new and others years in the making.
For their 2018 School Sport Victoria journey, it started all the back in Term One, when they competed at our Greenvale PS Athletics Carnival, winning their way into the Greenvale PS Athletics Team.
As they have progressed through the School Sport Victoria system they have proudly represented our school and made significant contributions to our success at District, Divisional, Regional and now State levels of competition.
Mischa represented Greenvale Primary School for the second time at the State Championships, this year claiming third in the 10 Year Girls Discus.
Kean made his first State Championships appearance, placing second in the 11 Year Boys 100m Sprint and 3rd in the 11 Year Boys 200m Sprint (by only the tighest of margins).
Max competed in his
Congratulations to the school Choir for a wonderful performance on the night of our Art Show last week. They started their performance with a ‘Waka Waka’ dance then sang ‘I have a dream’, ‘Candyman’, ‘Put a little love in your heart’, ‘A million dreams’ and ‘One Song’. Special thanks to the soloists who were courageous enough to sing in front of the large audience in the Gym on their own, some of them doing so for the first time.
On Friday October 19th, nine Greenvale Primary School students attended Boardmans Stadium in Sunbury to compete in the Divisional Basketball Competition.
Greenvale played three matches against Westmeadows PS, St Annes PS and Willmott Park. The team started the day off a little slow, before producing some of their best basketball in the second and third matches.
Despite disappointing results the students were able to get much needed development and enjoyment out of the day.
Thank you to Mrs D’Angelo for coaching the team, and thank you to the parents who came along to cheer the team on.
Year 5 Camp
On Tuesday the 9th of October the Year 5 cohort went to Phillip Island Adventure Resort. Students enjoyed a range of activities such as the giant swing, twin flying fox and the circatron. We also had the opportunity to go to A Maze ’N’ Things where we played mini golf and got lost in the maze.
Year 5 camp was the best camp EVER! My favourite activity was the circatron. Another activity I enjoyed was the giant swing. I personally think that the food was pretty good. We made pancakes on the last day and they were really good!

Year 5 camp in 2018 was my favourite camp I have ever been on! My favourite part was the circitron that astronauts used to train on. Another thing was the disco. We danced to lots of songs and we had a lot of fun. But my favourite part of all was the food. We had amazing meals that always left us full. We had breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

My favourite thing about Year 5 camp was the Twin flying fox because you had an amazing view of Phillip Island. Another
On Wednesday October 17th, eleven Greenvale Primary School students attended the Meadowglen Athletics Stadium in Epping to compete in the Northern Region Athletics Carnival.

Our students proudly represented our school across a range of events including high jump, long jump, discus, 100, 200, 1500, relay and hurdles, competing with excellent sportsmanship and determination.
Well done to all students who attended, your skill and athleticism to get you so far through the School Sport Victoria system is a credit to your hard work and training. I hope to see you continue this next year.
