During Science Week the Year 3s had a great day exploring forces during a ‘Hands On Science’ incursion. Each class participated in a range of activities to extend their knowledge of forces.
Students measured the force involved in pulling, lifting and dragging objects. They explored how various materials create different amounts of friction. They used static electricity to move boats. There was also exploration of magnetic force. Finally students created their own straw rocket, trying for a design that would allow the rocket to stay in the air the longest.
It was great to see all the budding Year 3 scientists applying their knowledge and extending their thinking.
