As a part of Numeracy, the Year 1s have been counting the number of days they have been at school this year. Students kept count using classroom number lines, tens frames, a 100s chart, as well as unifix and bundles and sticks to represent tens and ones.
On Friday the 28tH of July, the Year 1s got to celebrate their 100th day of school. Each child brought in 100 things of their choice such as lollies, stickers and paperclips. They then counted them using an efficient method of skip counting by 2s, 5s, or 10s etc. They also wrote about the number 100 and participated in games and craft activities to acknowledge being 100 days smarter.
Students enjoyed the activities and celebrations throughout the day, below are some photos taken.
